Chris Horn has been a professional businessman since finishing his education.
Employed as a business manager for a large company servicing the Ford Motor Co with 140 employees
Chris started his first business in 1978. The business grew to become the largest contract powder coating company in Australia. Chris also developed and patented a range of modular decorative fencing for the DIY market. Marcelle joined the company in 1990.
After 15 years the business was sold.
Chris and Marcelle became McDonald’s licensees with 1 store operating in Melbourne.
After 5 years McDonald’s in recognition of the excellence in operation offered the opportunity to move to Darwin in the NT to purchase 3 existing stores. Chris and Marcelle owned and ran these businesses and opened their 4 store in 2007 with over 400 employees across all 4 stores.
Sold the McDonalds businesses in 2011 and moved to Brisbane.
In 2012 while on a holiday to Europe Chris saw a Zummo machine for the first time and was fascinated by the operation of the machine.
In 2013 Chris purchased 2 x Z14 machines to install in the 2 cafes that Marcelle and he owned. Impressed by the sales and quality of the machine he commenced a line of communication with Zummo Spain.
